laser cutting at the cutting edge: Lilly Heine’s first collection

When I saw the fashion collection of Harrod’s prize winner at the Central Saint Martins M.A. Fashion Show, I thought that maybe something has moved with the use of laser cutting. Usually, laser cutting applied in fashion can be resumed in embroidery. A lot of beautiful laser cut embroideries can be found in the swiss textile industry Jakob Schlaepfer. But Lilly Heine has pushed the envelop of this new technology and created a new aesthetic! Well, this is has to be the role of  the meeting between a new technology and  design: to push the boundaries of  established design and find new creative solutions.
